FAQ
Common Questions
Is my treatment covered by insurance?
Psychiatric treatments by our FMH-certified psychiatrist are covered by Swiss basic health insurance (Grundversicherung). Psychological psychotherapy services may be covered depending on your supplementary insurance (Zusatzversicherung). We recommend contacting your insurer for specific coverage details.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
A referral is not always required, but it depends on your insurance model. If you have a HMO or Hausarzt model, you will typically need a referral from your GP. If you have a standard model, you can contact us directly.
How long does a session last?
A standard therapy session lasts 50 minutes. Initial assessments and neuropsychological evaluations may take 60–90 minutes. We will inform you of the expected duration when scheduling your appointment.
In which languages are sessions offered?
We offer sessions in both German and English. Both of our clinicians are fluent in both languages, so you can choose whichever language you are most comfortable with.
What if I need urgent help?
If you are in a mental health crisis, please call the Psychiatric Emergency Service at 143 (Die Dargebotene Hand) or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. Our practice is not an emergency service.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged, as the reserved time cannot be offered to other patients.
